Whimsy stamp Monochromatic challenge

I have done most of the card in purple and one in almost all pinks and a blue card so I thought I would give it a go in the  Whimsy Inspirations Challenge.

I ordered myself two new stamps tonight from Australia from http://www.makeitcrafty.com/. Scared to think how long they are going to take to arrive but I fell in love with them. I still have a bit of Christmas money from Johnny and I know he would want me to spend it on something fun.

This is my first entry to the Kraftin Kimmie Sketch Challenge. I know that its not perfect and I have loads to learn but I like how it turned it. The Angry Ballerina just makes me smile despite her frown. It reminds me of Ralphie in A Christmas Story when he had to wear the Big Pink Bunny costume that his Aunt made him. Classic.
The rest of my Monday off is gonna be lazy I think. I may putter about doing some laundry and straightening up a few things but dinner is done. Last night I made the worlds biggest Turkey Lasagne and I am pretty sure I am not gonna have to cook all week.
Later I will take Little Miss to her swim lesson and then the Boy Child has High School Orientation tonight. I can't believe he is going to be in Highschool this fall. Time went so fast. I must have blinked. Its like the great Ferris Buller says " Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. "

Back from Highschool orientation. Saw my grad picture hanging on the wall. Ran into old friends that I graduated with whose kids will be in my own kids future grad class. Wow! I feel old right now. Weird thing seeing your past,present ad future all in one hall. Look forward to Joshua going there and making his own memories. 

Bald Mans Birthday!

Oh my word  I am so stuffed! Just got back from a night out treated to a wonderful dinner by friends at Point no Point in Sooke BC. The food was simply divine. I have to speak of the food for a moment. We started off with Caesar salad with Duck. Never would I have thought the two would meld but OMG! Then I had the roasted Salmon with bread pudding and spinach creme fraise. OMG,OMG,OMG! Then coffee's and Creme Brûlée for desert. I have never had Creme Brûlée, fancy desert now checked off my bucket list. The dinner was amazing yes but the best was spending time with friends. Then we get home and my Bald Man talks me into buying new stamps on his birthday. He is so sweet and generous to me. I am truly blessed to have my Bald Man in my life. Today no crafting has been done. However I am planning tomorow on making a sketch card as my first ever http://www.kraftinkimmiestamps.com challenge entry. I am kinda excited. I started this blog to help keep me motivated to try new things and to get better at my colouring. So tomorow when I should be on the Tread Mill to work off tonights dinner I shall be glued to my craft table.

My Bald Man is My Super Hero

My Bald Man turns 41 tomorrow. Wow it just seems like yesterday I met this scrawny nineteen year old boy who turned out to be the love of my life. I remember when my being 16 and his being 19 was a HUGE age difference. I was afraid he wouldn't go out with me. Afraid my parents wouldn't let him go out with me. I wanted so bad to be 19 just like him. Now that he is 41 I am holding on tight to my  number 37. To me he is my Super Hero. He has given me all the love I could ever want in my life. He gave me our two beautiful children. He gave me a home to call our own. He also spoiled me silly by letting me get the ankle bitters whom I love dearly. My Bald Man is my life, I wish him a Happy Birthday.

Gotta clean the house

Most days I have no problem dragging my butt out of bed at three thirty am to go to work but then some days its hard. Today was one of those days. Cold, rainy and my bed was just too warm and comfy. Now I am done work for the day and trying to motivate myself to clean the house. 

If I get my "chores" done then I don't feel so bad when I settle into my craft area. Cup of hot coffee, Desperate housewives playing on netflix and stamps. I can just picture what my afternoon can look like if I can just get up and clean the house. Arghhhhhhh I just gotta suck it up and get it done. I will let you know if I succeded later. Fingers crossed.

Happy Valentines Day!!!!!!!

Valentines Day is defiantly not ideal on a work day but we try and make the most of it. I have treats for the kids when they get home from school. Some chocolate and a mushy card for my Bald Man. I have used her recipe for the past couple years. I highly recommend it. Easy easy easy! I was gonna make a chocolate pie for desert tonight but just finished reading the Help for the second time and

Just can't bring myself to make it. Don't wanna wreck dinner with even the thought.
I wanted pie though so I opted for something lighter.
Lemon meringue. Not traditional Valentines Day fare but Joshua loves it so I am making it for him. My Bald Man spoiled me with with all four of the Twilight movies on Blue Ray. Not sure what he was thinking because now I see a movie marathon in OUR future. Snuggle time on the couch. Huh maybe I see what his plan was..........smart.  I made a few cards leading up to Valentines day. The top one is using my Magnolia Tilda Stamp. I just love her even though she doesn't have a mouth. The bottom is my Shy-Ann stamp that is currently on clearance for a steal at whimsy stamps. I love everything about her. The dress, the big wings her huge eyes. People have said that Valentines Day is just a waste of money but personally I love it. Another day to make a new memory and have fun with tradition.

Day off

Day offs just don't mean what they used too. Argued with the kids about everything this morning as I got them off to school. Spent two hours cleaning their rooms because I can't stand the sight of the mess in there any longer. Sick dog ect. Typical motherhood fun!
My plan had been to clean my own room/ craft room. Clean the kitchen, drink coffee,have a bath, colour and maybe even put on makeup for the first time in a week. I can still accomplish all those goals but now I am grumpy.
Iam gonna try and use Valentines Day being tomorrow to inspire me to get in a better mood. That and lots of coffee.

Alrighty coffee fixed my mood. I knew it would. Laundry is done, kids rooms have been found. The kitchen is almost ok but the Dog is still feeling crappy. She will be alright though. A couple days a go she went to the vet for booster shots and they have just hit her. Poor little thing. I had a bath and even coloured. Makeup is next :)
I can check one card of my to do list now. Friends birthday card.

Lazy Sunday

Iam feeling so lazy today. My bald man and boy child have gone off to see Star Wars in town. My girl child is being lazy on the couch after her busy day trip to Vancouver yesterday.  Its raining outside and I am totally unmotivated to clean my kitchen. I have a few cards I need to make this week and really should make a plan to get on that.

1- Baby shower card ( Boy )

3- Girlfriends birthday card ( 40 )

4- Valentines card for husband and kids 

Yikes way to leave these things to the last minute. I made myself an Americano and closed myself up in my craft room wich is also my bedroom.  Hopefully by the time dinner time rolls around I may have at least one of these cards scratched off my to do list.
