9 months till Christmas Blog Hop!!!!!!

Through crafting and blogging I have been able to have the opportunity to talk to a lot of wonderful women.
Iam so excited to have been invited to join in this months countdown to Christmas Blog Hop.
This months theme is MOSTLY GREEN.
I usually tend to make a lot of my Christmas cards in shades of blue so I loved the challenge of stepping outside of my usual colour pallet.

If you have arrived here from the talented Sallys blog then you are in the right place. If you happened to stop by for a visit, great! I am so glad you are here...but please start at creative Shari'sblog so you can enjoy all the beautiful cards/projects everyone has made. At the bottom of this post I will put the entire blog hop order for you to follow.

Snow, Rain, Christmas and Vampires

The weather outside is defiantly warmer than other places in Canada right now.
However what people who get snow alot are forgetting is that at least you can play in the snow.
Sledding and skiing is a delight.
Snowball fights can be a great way to relieve tension.
Taking walks along the trails in the snow and capturing stunning pictures with your camera.
Sitting inside sipping hot tea and looking out the window as the world gets covered in a big white blanket.
Snow days from work and school.
My favourite  is the absolute quiet that comes with the snow.
I love that!
I also know I am only talking about the fun snow can bring and not the mess, the crazy road conditions, the freezing cold ect.
What my family and friends from snowy parts of Canada never seem to think about is that the rain here in Victoria BC goes for long periods that never seem to stop.
Maybe we get a day or four of sunshine then the grey skies and the rain and the wind start again.
Across the ocean but only a days travel by ferry and car is Forks.
The town that Stephanie Meyer used as her setting for Vampires.
Why because like us the sun spends more time hiding than shining.
I think here in Sooke we can probably shelter vampires too lol.
Days all grey, wet and cold make me dream about Christmas so of course if I dream about Christmas I make Christmas cards.
Why not :)

Iam eneter this little guy on the bottom into the Outlawz Saturday paper al la mode anything goes challenge. Iam loving this group right now its truly a lot of fun and would recommend you all to visit and check it out http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/saturdayscarpbookingchallenge.

Green in Honour of St Patricks Day

1:45pm and school is out, the kids are home and its officially Spring Break.
The window to the craft room is open and I am listening to the rain, hard and loud on the pavement outside.
I dont think there will be any laying about in the grass this St Pattys day looking for four leaf clovers.
However I think I will surprise the kids with Green eggs and Ham on Sunday morning for brunch.
Hopefully anyways lets see how motivated mom is then.
My sisters birthday is on St Patricks Day so today I made a card for my kids to give her.
Iam also submitting it into the Outlawz  Friday Alcohol marker  challenge and the twist is make it green http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com .
I was recommended this group by one of my blog followers. I have had alot of fun with it this week.

My little sisters birthday in One week!

In one week its my little sisters birthday, she will be 29 AGAIN!
In reality she will be 34 but we will give her the 29 if it makes her happy.
My little sister can pass for 16 without a problem.
She is tiny and youtful  and has tons of personality.
When she is happy her enthusiasm is infectious.
She hikes, does photography, gardens, fishes.
She is just like the stamp I used on her birthday card from Saturated Canary.
Give A Girl A Fish.
Here in Sooke BC Canada she embraces the outdoors and thrives in them.
She doesn't take her beautiful surroundings for granted.

Iam planning on entering this card into the Outlawz weekly challeneg.
Mondays challenge is  you must have a sentiment
Also entering it in the One Crazy Stamper http://www.onecrazystampercom.blogspot.ca/2013/03/march-anything-goes-challenge.html

Countdown to Christmas..............No its not to early!

In my corner of the world my friends and family all think that I am the crazy Christmas lady.
Personally I think that I am the grown result of parents that didn't leave the tree up long enough.
Christmas isn't just a week or two in our house.
My tree goes up on the first Saturday of November, and no I do not care if Halloween was the Friday night before.
The preparations for Christmas happen all year long.
One of my favorite Christmas activities that I indulge in all year long is the making of Christmas cards.
Last Christmas I was even fortunate enough to have several people buy my cards to give out to their family and friends.
I was so excited when I went to a friends house and saw two of my cards on her mantle.
One of course was mailed by me.
The other was a gift she had received from another friend.

I made this card this week using the sweet Christmas Angel from Saturated Canary.
Iam in love with all of Kristas designs both Digital and Rubber.
I coloured her up with Copics.
I embellished with pearls and papers flowers and the large glitter snowflake sticker.
The papers are from Bo Bunny.
Iam going to enter her in the http://www.onecrazystamper.com Anything goes challenge.
I wonder how many other Christmas cards there will be lol.
Also in case any of you were wondering there is 295 more Days till Christmas!
Seems like a long time but it does tend to sneak up on even us Christmas stalkers.
Goodnight

Sunshine feels brilliant on my face

March has sprung.
So have my Daffodils, tulips and crocuses.
The grass is growing like a weed but still really wet and didn't look that easy to mow as I watched my Bald Man mow it yesterday.
He spoils me and does all the yucky parts of the yard work and lets me pick and plant the flowers and basically take credit for how nice it looks.
Iam truly blessed to have him as my husband.
I took a break, not a long break but a few days from my blog and crafting.
Iam feeling discouraged I guess is the right word.
I know that my card making is improving from a year ago I can see that when I look at old pictures.
Still I wish it was improving faster, I know it takes time to master a new skill.
I have to remind myself of this just as I remind my own kids of the very same life lesson.
I set a goal this new years to grow my blog.
Not really happening, I think I even lost a follower.
Then I was actually sad for a few moments.
Quickly I shook that off.
This is supposed to be fun and if I end up with only a few followers than I love them even more.
Makes it easier to check in on all of their blogs that I also follow.
So today after work I made a card.
I used the new Digi Summer Swing from Saturated Canary.
I coloured her up with colics and used paper from my Wild Rose Studio Summer Picnic paper pad.
Embellishments are random odds and sods that I had in my craft room.
I really do want to thank those of you that visit my blog and comment on my projects.
Your visits and kind words mean alot to me.
Hope that this Monday was a great start to a new week.

Hugs to all
Sandy
